Today i will share with you two beautiful plants flowering on my rooftop garden. Both are growing in clay pots. These are Pomponella Fairy Tale Rose and Ifafa Lily flowers.
Pomponella Fairy Tale Rose is a very beautiful pom pom shared rose bred by Kordes Germany. You must be familiar with the most popular floribunda rose “Iceberg”, well Iceberg was bred by Kordes as well. Roses bred by Kordes are famous for their disease Resistance and prolific blooming. Iceberg is regarded as one of the most floriferous and disease resistant rose. I am sure Pomponella Fairy Tale Rose will have same traits. Another famous rose of pom pom shaped is raubritter rose. My Pomponella Fairy Tale Rose is a grafted specimen and has mild scent. But the pom pom shape of this rose is the main attraction. When it will grow large and bear hundreds of flowers at once, it will be a treat to watch. You can find more about this rose at famous rose encyclopedia HMF at Pomponella Fairy Tale Rose at HMF .
Here goes the picture of my Pomponella Fairy Tale Rose blooming today on my rooftop:
Ifafa lily with botanic name cyrtanthus mackenii is a very fragrant bulbous flower from amaryllis family. It is one of the longest blooming flowering plant in my collection. It has extremely delightful fragrance. It flowers in Winter in Lahore and likes to be pot bound. It multiples very fast. There are many varieties of cyrtanthus but ifafa lily is easiest of all varieties. It comes in various colors including white and red but this one is pink. It resembles very much with its cultivar named “Himalayan pink”. Ifafa lily is not a common bulb and usually found only with collectors or some rare flowering bulbs vendor.
Flowering in February 2015
Flowering in January 2013.

Thank you.
That Cyrthanthus mackenii is really cool!
Beautiful shots!
What beautiful flowers. I wish I was able to grow such beautiful roses. Sadly I just don’t have the skill.
Wow! Gorgeous flower photos!
Lovely Kordes rose, I like them too, I have Iceberg and others. I haven’t seen the Ifafa lily before, I like the tubular shape and peachy colors, and how it flares out like a trumpet.
Very beautiful blossoms and your photos even make them lovelier.
Those are beautiful photos of beautiful roses. I have a lot of roses – that bloom in June.
